In 2023, influential e-commerce players like Amazon and Shopify began introducing chat-based AI assistants into their search experiences, and Etsy was interested in doing the same. I spent a 2 month rotation with the GenAI team to design the MVP of Etsy's AI search assistant.
Nearing completion of the MVP, leadership developed an interest in Etsy as the champion of gifting. As a result, I then pivoted to a 6 month rotation with the newly created gifting initiative to help launch Gift Mode.
